History
JB's Hair and Beauty Supply was founded in 1998 by Joyce Burt in Santa
Rosa, California. Joyce has researched extensively to identify the top
products for her store. Recently, after getting repeated requests for
mailed product orders from customers travelling or living in remote
areas, Joyce decided to open an Internet store to offer
beauty products to those in communities where such supplies are more
difficult to find. She is happy to receive product recommendations from
customers and hopes that this Internet store will be a help to people who
seek convenient access to an in-depth selection of resources for ethnic
hair and beauty.
Owning her own business is a new career for Joyce. She has been
surprised and pleased by the eager enthusiasm with which her store has
been received by the many ethnic communities that shape California.
Early in 2003, Joyce Burt's niece and brother developed the Internet
store interface that you are visiting now. Her niece is a new
programmer and hopes that you will find the site easy to navigate and

Shopping
The JB's Internet store allows for several kinds of virtual shopping. If
you would like to find a product by name, you can use the Search
Window.
SEARCH
The search window allows you to look up an item by name. If you put in
the letter "a", it will bring up all products that contain that letter in
their name, ID, or description. If you put in a word like "red" the
search will bring up all things that contain that word, but also things
like "feathered". If you want to search for a general kind of item
like "hats", you should leave off the "s" at the end because each
single item will be listed as a "hat" not as a "hats". Another good time
to use the search window is if you want to search by a brand or
product-line name like "Wave Nouveau".

Another shopping method is to View All Products.
VIEW ALL PRODUCTS
This option is listed in the menu that you see across the top of the
JB's home screen. When you click it you will come to an interface with a
olive-colored alphabetical list of all of the products currently
available in the store. Checkmark the ones you are interested in and they
will be added to your shopping cart where you will see their descriptions
and prices. You can remove them from the cart in the subtotals screen
later on, or right away by selecting "none" as the quantity desired for
the item you wish to remove.
Below the olive-colored list of all products, you will see eight
buttons labeled with the same major product categories that were visible
on the JB's home screen. If you want to hop straight down to that list,
click "View Product Categories" in the menu at the top of the screen.

PERSONALIZED RECOMMENDATIONS
The Recommendation Page allows you to input
information about your current hair or beauty needs and email it to
JB's. Joyce or her assistants will make an evaluation and email or
mail you some suggestions and names of products you might want to try.
No purchase is necessary and the recommendation is free. Your email
address or regular mailing information will not be knowingly distributed
to any third party by the JB's Hair and Beauty Supply company.
